Corrections and suggestions

Spotted something out of date, or want to suggest a page? Here is how to reach the guide.
Highland Stays is a small, independent guide. We welcome corrections, suggestions for pages and notes about anything that has changed on the ground — a path that has closed, a venue that has moved, a bus route that no longer runs.
What we can and cannot help with
- We can: correct mistakes, consider suggestions for new guide pages, and fix photo credits.
- We cannot: take bookings, check availability, pass messages to hotels or venues, or resolve problems with a stay. Please contact the business concerned directly.
Highland Stays is not a hotel and is not connected with any hotel that has used this web address in the past.
The form above is a simple contact form: submitting it does not save your details on our server. For anything you want us to act on, email is the reliable route.
Making a correction or suggestion as useful as possible
The most helpful messages are the specific ones. If something in the guide is wrong, tell us which page it is on, roughly where on the page it appears, and what you believe the correct information to be. A short note such as "the coastal path section on the day trips page mentions a car park that has been closed since the spring" is far easier to check than "some of the walking advice is out of date".
Where you can, say how you know. First-hand observations are valuable: you walked the route last week, you rode the bus, you visited the venue and found it under new management. If you read the change in an official notice, on a council website or on the venue's own pages, mention that too, so we can confirm it before updating anything. We would rather take a little longer and get a detail right than rush a change that turns out to be wrong.
Things worth telling us about
- Venues in the venues section that have closed, moved, renamed or changed what they host.
- Transport changes affecting arrival, getting around Aberdeen or reaching places out of the city.
- Paths, beaches or viewpoints that have restricted access, erosion problems or new parking arrangements.
- Areas or day trips you think deserve a place in the trip guide, with a sentence or two on why.
- Notes from your own visit that might suit the field notes board.
What happens next
Because the guide is run on a small scale, replies are not always immediate, and we cannot promise to answer every message individually. Every correction is read, though, and anything that affects a reader's safety or ability to get somewhere, such as a closed path or a discontinued service, is checked first. Suggestions for new pages are kept and weighed against what the guide already covers.
Please do not send booking references, payment details or other personal information you would not want sitting in an inbox. We have no use for them, and any issue with a reservation needs to go straight to the accommodation provider or booking platform you used.
