What kind of place is it?
P&J Live is the arena at The Event Complex Aberdeen, usually shortened to TECA. It is where the biggest touring concerts and comedy shows come when they visit the North-East, and the complex also hosts exhibitions, conferences and sporting events. Its flexible halls can be set up for seated or standing audiences, so check the format of your event when you book.
A short history
The complex opened in 2019, replacing the city's older exhibition and conference centre at Bridge of Don. Its striking angular exterior, clad in dark and light panels, is designed to be read from the main roads around it. Being newly built, it was planned around large crowds, with on-site parking and space for buses and taxis.
Visitor information
- Getting there: the venue is on the edge of the city rather than in the centre, so plan both directions of travel. Event-day bus services, taxis and car parking are the usual options; check the venue's own travel page for the arrangements for your date.
- Leaving after the show: large audiences leave at the same time. Allow time for queues for taxis and car parks, and pre-book where that is possible.
- Booking: buy through the venue's official ticketing partners only.
- Accessibility: the venue publishes access information and accessible booking routes.
How it fits your trip
Big event nights also fill rooms across the city, so if your trip is built around a concert at P&J Live, book your stay as soon as you have tickets. Staying near the airport or in Dyce shortens the journey back; staying in the city centre gives you more to do the rest of the time, as long as you have planned how you will get back after the encore.
